Here in the darkest of months we reboot our calendar, and in the span of a single second, we mentally teleport from the front of a 12 month train to the rear car of a new one:

I never gave much thought to the “significance” of a new year, but for several people I know it is an important annual tradition – an opportunity for deep self reflection and the setting of new intentions to manifest in the new year. Like a “psychological reset” or even a subtle form of reincarnation.

I believe one of the amazing things about people is this ability to redefine ourselves, or at least our ideas, concepts and priority – sometimes in an instant. In a very real sense we are entirely new people moment after moment.

But this New-Yearincarnation meditation is fascinating, and I wonder how much of that refocused mental energy manifests in the actions of people all over the world in the days and months that follow the dropping of a ball… recreating the world on a 12 month cycle.

At the very least, it’s a well timed reminder that  life is a state of mind, and if you need the chance to reboot your perspectives then kick back that glass of champaign, celebrate your chosen mental milestones and be who you’re becoming.

Or, as I said to my little sister – “Go make this year your bitch”

Happy New Yearincarnation : )
